Græni Stígurinn

 

Every journey starts somewhere, and for us, this was the beginning.

 

This wasn't an official partnership or a planned activation.

We just packed a few FLOW samples, arrived about half an hour before the start and wanted to experience our very first running event from the inside.

 

The event itself was relatively small, but it became an important milestone for HUMAN+.

It gave us our first opportunity to observe how these community events work, meet runners, speak with organisers and start building genuine relationships.

 

One of the first conversations we had was with the team at the registration table, where we learned more about the purpose behind the event.

It wasn't just another race - it was also helping raise awareness for Græni Stígurinn (The Green Trail), a long-term project led by Skógræktarfélag Íslands.

The vision is to connect the outdoor recreation and forest areas surrounding the Capital Region into one continuous walking and cycling trail, creating better access to nature and encouraging a healthier, more active lifestyle.

 

Looking back, we handed out only a handful of FLOW samples that day, but more importantly, we left with a much better understanding of the running community, how these events operate and where HUMAN+ could genuinely bring value.

 

 

 

It was the first small step in what has since become an exciting journey.
